Font Style Names and Types
Every text style on this site, with its name, an example, the Unicode block it comes from and the letters it lacks.
Font style names describe the look of the letters: bold, italic, cursive (also called script), gothic (fraktur or blackletter), outline (double-struck), monospace, bubble (circled), square, small caps and wide. In design apps these are families of real fonts; here they are Unicode character sets that copy and paste.

Font types in typography
Typographers group real fonts into a few types. Serif fonts have small strokes at the ends of letters (Times New Roman). Sans-serif fonts do not (Arial). Script fonts imitate handwriting. Monospace fonts give every letter the same width (Courier). Display fonts are made for large headings. The Unicode styles above borrow these looks.
