Hindi Font Style (हिंदी)

Type your name in English letters (Hinglish) to also see cursive, gothic and bold styles.

17 styles. App compatibility: not tested yet. Screen readers may read styled letters one by one.

Unicode has no bold, italic or cursive copies of Hindi letters, so a Hindi name is styled with what does paste as text: symbol frames such as ꧁•राहुल•꧂ or ༄ᶦᶰᵈ᭄राहुल࿐, and symbols between syllables such as रा★हु★ल. Conjuncts like स्ते stay joined because the symbols go between complete syllables.

If you write your name in English letters (Hinglish), such as Rahul, the cursive, gothic, bold and small caps styles appear in the same list.

Why underline and strikethrough are not offered for Hindi

Underline, strikethrough and glitch add a combining mark to every letter. Those marks come from the Latin block of Unicode, and Hindi fonts on phones and computers usually do not include them, so the whole syllable can show as boxes. Symbols placed between syllables do not have that problem.

Hindi font style as text or as an image

Apps like PixelLab and Canva draw Hindi calligraphy fonts into an image. That gives real calligraphy, but the result is a picture. For a WhatsApp name or an Instagram bio you need text, and then the options are the ones on this page.

Questions

Can I get bold Hindi text in WhatsApp?

Yes, inside a message: *राहुल* becomes bold, because WhatsApp formats the text itself. In your WhatsApp name there is no bold for Hindi, so use a frame or symbols instead.

Can I use a Hindi name in my Instagram username?

No. Instagram usernames take only English letters, numbers, periods and underscores. Put the Hindi name in the Name field or in your bio.
